Database Management for Brokers

Today’s market complexities, and advances in the ways we receive and provide information, have outpaced the ability of spreadsheets to serve the full spectrum of agency requirements. A custom database can replace spreadsheets in many instances, enhance internal efficiency, and streamline many cumbersome agency and client processes. At PIT, we combine insurance and risk management expertise with success in database development; this enables us to create customized, user-friendly Access database products that meet very specific agency needs.

Our databases have proven invaluable to supporting management of:

    Recent Database Management Projects

    Program Rating and Quoting Systems

    • Created an Access Database for a captive apartment package program, including a rating component, submission tracking, loss funds, captive reports, and collateral. All program processes emanate from the database, including quoting and binding.
    • Created an Access database for rating, quoting, billing and tracking a special events liability program. All program processes emanate from the database, including quoting and policy issuance.

    Proprietary Programs Management

    • Developed a management system for a workers’ compensation program, tracking submissions, written business, payrolls, classifications and losses. All program processes emanate from the database.

    Loss Analysis / Tailored Claims Reports

    • Designed a claims database, populated by a “dump” from the TPA for a captive workers’ compensation program. This database produces monthly trend reports for both management and the individual program participants.
    • Designed Access Reports for the TPA handling the liability and auto claims for various religious denominations belonging to a Risk Retention Group.

    Property Portfolios / Statements of Value / Auto Fleets

    • Created an Access database for a large religious order (including three universities and various state properties). The database tracked all buildings at each location, including underwriting information and values, all vehicles, including a form mechanism to print Auto ID cards and all claims.
    • Developed an Access database tracking property values and underwriting data for a large California school district (more than 100 locations).

    Risk Management Reports

    • Created a claims database, populated by a “dump” from the TPA for a captive workers’ compensation program. This database produces monthly trend reports for both management and the individual program participants.
