Who We Are

Barbara Fleming and Sara Doyle have been providing San Francisco Bay Area insurance brokers with technical services on a temporary or contract basis since 1981. Their firm, Professional Insurance Temporaries (PIT) supplies highly qualified support for all agency functions, and was the first Bay Area temporary employment agency to specialize in insurance.

Barbara Fleming

Barbara is an Australian transplant, moving to the San Francisco Bay Area at age 11. She attended the University of California, Berkeley, and the Alliance Française and Sorbonne in Paris before starting her insurance career at Travelers Insurance Company in 1969. Since 1981, PIT has given Barbara the opportunity to grow professionally by working with all manner of locally based insurance agencies, big and small, general and specialized. Barbara's passions are building databases and traveling. She is the mother of an adult daughter.

Sara Lea Doyle, CPCU, ARM

Sara earned her CPCU and Associate in Risk Management designations within her first three years in the industry. She was graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, with mathematics major, in 1976, and remains an avid Tarheels basketball fan. Sara enjoys reading and movies, and volunteers at the Oakland Library.
